Maybe there is bad design decisions were used to sync game state information between game clients, no interpolation, no movement prediction, no dedicated server. Maybe multi-player protocol lacks data compression and produces large packets causing unnecessary fragmentation. These bugs set game clients to out-of-sync state, or there is not enough optimization to deal with latency. Game produces "Waiting for players" states even in character selection screen. So much hassle.Įven if your suggestion works, these problems indicates that there is bugs in multi-player. There is difficulty already just to gather players, ask them about settings, sync them between everyone, etc. It difficult even to select characters and we can barely move on screen after game starts. Same "Waiting for players" message every 2-5 seconds of gameplay. Update: We tried to lower screen resolution to 1024x768 and made it same for everyone, but it didn't helped much.I can gather any information you want to help investigate this issue, like network packets dump, logs, etc. I have already checked for packet loss and I don't have any packet loss or another network issues.Could be this is an issue that other players are playing with Wireless connections? ( Same connections are used for other online games I mentioned earlier). Is this game need special network setup, like port-forwarding?.My Rig and Internet Connection are capable to pull L4D2 dedicated server and game client at the same time without lags.We all live in same city and play some games like Left4Dead together without lags and any problems. Constant "Waiting for players" for 10-15 sec and very high latency for everyone except me. I've tried to host a game, everyone joins, but we couldn't manage to get out from starting location. I hope to see the game on shelves one day but we will have to see what Behemoth decides to do after Ailen hominid invasion because you never know, in the gaming industry.I have bought quite bunch of Castle Crashers for my friends for Christmas and I have same problems. To revamp the game to a more modern style, would it really be that difficult? Weapon upgrades are always fun in video games, they could add pet upgrades, special abilities, and perks etc. I feel like Castle Crashers 1 mechanics could use a few more things as well. It might be like Castle crashers crystal clash” or something unnecessary like that. In conclusion I feel like Castle Crashers 2 is on the table, but I don’t think they will necessarily call it Castle Crashers 2. It was the little things that made it a great game, the gameplay was as good as it needed to be. This is an opinion but what made Castle Crashers unique was things like poopy deer and the last princess kiss at the end (don’t want to spoil it). The graphics look updated from the original Alien Hominid. The newest one Alien Hominid Invasion reminds me a lot of neon abyss but as aliens. In fact every game Behemoth has produced has mostly positive ratings on the Steam marketplace. The last project they worked on was Pit People, it was a decent board game style game. In one comment they stated that, ”if they were to make a sequel, the game would need to be improved upon.” Isn’t that obvious in the gaming industry? If you make a game, the sequel should be better?Ĭurrently Behemoth is working on Alien Hominid Invasion which in all fairness looks like a great game… But it isn’t Castle Crashers. Why not make a game that is guaranteed sales, and guaranteed fans?īehemoth was asked about this by everyone, and has said multiple different statements to every game news company they spoke to. It left us all wondering when the sequel will hit shelves? With the sales of the first game wouldn’t it be a “no brainer” to make a sequel not only to make the customers happy, but Behemoths wallet happy as well. Castle Crashers came out on August 27th 2008 in all its glory, after selling 20 million copies over the span of 13 years.
